Nicole Wile

Nicole received her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Dalhousie University in 2006. Her love of anatomy and physiology inspired her to continue her education at the Canadian College of Massage & Hydrotherapy to pursue a holistic approach to health and wellness. Nicole completed the 2200-hour program in 2012 at the top of her class and remains an active member of the Massage Therapists' Association of Nova Scotia (MTANS). Nicole is a Mom to three, an entrepreneur, and a lifelong learner committed to both her personal and her professional development.

Over a decade of experience in the field has taught Nicole that healing goes well beyond palpation and "deep tissue" massage. It takes a village, and Nicole regularly refers to additional health care practitioners in conjunction to Massage Therapy to maximize healing. Nicole is intentional in creating a safe space, and uses a variety of modalities to facilitate healing and to honour mental, emotional, and physical wellness. Through individualized treatment plans, Nicole strives to care for each patient with compassion and support to ensure proper muscle balance and body awareness.

In Nicole's experience, there is a large difference between "deep tissue massage" and "deep pressure" within your massage, and believes that we can more accurately and effectively address issues without forcing tissue that has not been prepped for release. The dated "no pain, no gain" philosophy has proven ineffective on the road to recovery time and time again, and Nicole believes that we must first calm the nervous system in order to experience the benefits of manual therapy.

Nicole is an advocate for regular massage therapy and self-care, and enjoys treating a variety orthopedic and systemic conditions. If you experience head/neck/shoulder tension, jaw pain, headaches, stress, anxiety, spend most of your day at a desk or carrying small children, Nicole may be the Massage Therapist for you! Her treatments incorporate a variety of techniques to achieve the best possible results, including Swedish Massage, Myofascial Release, Assisted Stretching, Aromatherapy, Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy, Central and Peripheral Joint Mobilizations, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Hydrotherapy, and Remedial Exercise.

Nicole is continuously seeking exciting and challenging courses/learning opportunities and holds certification in Cupping Massage, Sports Massage, Indian Head Massage, Reiki (Level I & II), Aromatherapy, The Psoas & Diaphragm, Pelvic Health, Pre-Natal Massage, Fascial Approach to the Head/Neck/Jaw, and Gua Sha. She completed the Stretch to Win Institute's Levels 1 and 2 Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST)â„¢ Certification (for Stretch to Win Institute information, visit https://www.stretchtowin.com/), and NeuroKinetic Therapy Level 1 (https://neurokinetictherapy.com/). Nicole is actively working on certification in Facial Reflexology Massage, Gua Sha Facial Massage, and Sound Therapy using Singing Bowls for both Energy Work and Body Work.
